Time,
kept well.

Kronos is a brand built on one idea: the hours worth having are the ones made with care.

The name

Named for the Titan whose name became a word for time.

In Greek myth, Kronos ruled the age before the Olympians. His name has been tied to time ever since, and it still sits at the root of words like chronology and chronometer.

We borrowed it for the same reason: time is the one material nobody can make more of. Everything we put our name on is built to respect that.

The myth

Time devours what it makes.

Warned that one of his children would overthrow him, Kronos swallowed each of them at birth. The youngest, Zeus, was hidden away, and in the end the others were returned. The old story still holds the idea: nothing escapes time, and what is made well comes back around.

SATURNUS
Kronos Called Saturnus by the Romans. Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Hades and Poseidon, in the order he swallowed them, then the stone that took the place of Zeus.

Principles

  1. 01

    Precision

Details are decided, not defaulted. If it can be measured, it is measured twice.

  2. 02

    Patience

Good work takes the time it takes. We would rather be late and right than early and forgettable.

  3. 03

    Permanence

Made to be kept. Fewer things, built well, meant to outlast the moment they were made in.
